Proverbs 31 Bible Study: Living in Truth in a World Full of Lies

Proverbs 31 Bible Study (Watch the Teaching Above)

Hey friends,

For most of my life, I’ve looked up to the Proverbs 31 woman. She’s been such an inspiration to me—and honestly, so has my mom. I sometimes think my mom is a modern-day Proverbs 31 woman. She’s a warrior for God’s kingdom and lives out so many of the qualities we see in this passage.

Over the years, I’ve done many different Proverbs 31 Bible studies—online studies, devotionals, and personal reading. Each one helped shape my character and encouraged me to grow in wisdom. But I began to notice something.

Most Proverbs 31 studies approach this chapter entirely from a modern perspective. They don’t always slow down to ask what life was really like for the Proverbs 31 woman—her culture, her circumstances, and the lies surrounding her.

A Different Approach to a Proverbs 31 Bible Study

One morning, while I was supposed to be studying Judges (oops 😅), I found myself drawn to Proverbs 31 instead. And I truly believe God led me there for a reason.

As I began studying Proverbs 31 in its historical and cultural context, God opened my eyes to truths I had never seen before. This passage stopped feeling like a checklist and became something completely different—a powerful picture of a woman who lived faithfully in the middle of a culture full of lies.

Why This Proverbs 31 Bible Study Matters

  • The Proverbs 31 woman lived in a world that constantly told her lies about her worth, her role, and her value. And as I studied her story, I realized something deeply personal:
  • We may live in a different century, but we are still surrounded by lies every single day.
  • Through social media, comparison, unrealistic expectations, and cultural pressure, we are constantly being told who we should be, what we should look like, and where our value comes from. Those messages can slowly shape the way we think about ourselves—even without us realizing it.
  • What stood out to me in this Proverbs 31 Bible study is how this woman refused to let those lies define her. She didn’t live for cultural approval. She lived anchored in truth, guided by the fear of the Lord, and confident in who God created her to be. Her life reflected freedom, wisdom, and faithfulness—and that same freedom is available to us today.

My Prayer for You

My prayer is that as you watch this Proverbs 31 Bible study, your eyes would be opened too.

That you would:

  • Identify the lies you’ve been believing
  • Replace them with God’s truth
  • Walk in freedom, confidence, and joy rooted in Him

You were created to live fully for the Lord. Don’t let lies hold you back. Stand firm in truth and live on fire for Him.

Love,
Ash
