Why Pray for Your Future Husband?
Hi guys, Ashley here! In today’s video, we’re talking about praying for your future husband, something that has been on my heart and something I’ve been seeing a lot lately.
Instead of just waiting for a relationship, this is about actively trusting God with your future and inviting Him into your love story before it even begins.
I recently added this into my prayer journal, and it has been such a meaningful and powerful practice

How I Set Up My Prayer Journal
I created a dedicated section in my prayer journal specifically for this, and I split it into two parts:
Left Side: Prayers for Me
Right Side: Prayers for My Future Husband
This setup helped me stay grounded and remember that this journey is just as much about God preparing me as it is about preparing him.
Prayers for Yourself During Singleness
Before focusing on your future husband, it’s so important to pray for your own heart and growth.
Trusting God With Your Future
I wrote honestly to God, acknowledging that I don’t know what’s ahead—but choosing to trust where He leads.
Living With Gratitude
Scripture teaches us to give thanks in every season, so I thanked God for:
Patience & Growth
I prayed that God would grow me in this waiting season and help me:
Keeping Christ First
One of my biggest prayers was:
That I would never place my full trust in a man, but always go to Christ first and love Him most.
“Thy Will Be Done”
At the center of everything—trusting that God’s plan is perfect.
What to Pray for Your Future Husband
On the other side of my journal, I focused on specific and intentional prayers for my future husband.
Thanking God in Advance
I thanked God that He may already have someone planned for me—someone created with purpose.
Strength Against Temptation
Praying that he would:
Desire for God’s Word
That he would crave Scripture and pursue a deep relationship with God.
Growth & Spiritual Maturity
Prayers for:
A Life Fully for Christ
Above all:
That he would be a man who chooses to live for Jesus in everything.
Make Your Prayers Personal
There are so many prayer ideas online, and they can be super helpful—but your prayers don’t have to look like anyone else’s.
God wants to hear your heart.
When I sat down to write, everything just flowed naturally—and that’s what made it so special. Don’t overthink it—just start writing.
Why Praying for Your Future Husband Matters
This practice is so powerful because it helps you:
And one day, it could be something really meaningful to look back on.
