Christian Boundaries Start with God [2:07]
Jada’s personal relationship struggles—especially in her marriage—led her to discover that healthy Christian boundaries have to begin with loving God more than the blessings that he gives.
Jada explains how God shifted her mindset from trying to “fix” others to fixing her eyes on Him. She unpacks Mark 12:30, and how the Bible guides believers to seek alignment with God first: which then empowers us to set godly boundaries with others.
Even as new creations in Christ, we wrestle with old habits and relational wounds. Jada discusses the biblical view of boundaries as tools for protecting your spiritual growth while learning to love others without enabling harmful patterns.
And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:28-30
When Love Meets Disappointment: A Biblical Approach to Boundaries [9:44]
Real hurt requires real healing. Jada talks about how Christian boundaries help you love people through pain without losing yourself in the process. It’s not about building walls—it’s about building trust in God’s way of loving.
The Bible challenges us to love others unconditionally, even when we’re disappointed. This means practicing boundaries that reflect God’s redemptive love, rather than conditional or self-protective ones.
What Does The Bible Say About Boundaries?[16:13]
Jada shares a personal story that shows how loving someone well sometimes means adapting to their needs. True Christian boundaries are not rigid. Instead, they are:
- Spirit-led
- Compassionate
- Focused on meeting others where they are.
Warning Signs You’re Crossing Biblical Boundaries [19:08]
Red flag 1: God is no longer the center of the relationship.
If someone’s approval or presence controls your peace, it’s time to reset. Jada explains what the Bible says about boundaries when a person begins to replace God as your source of worth and joy.
Red flag 2: You need that person in order to feel happy, at peace, or content.
If you are relying on someone to supply needs that only God can truly fill, you have given them too much power and are putting too much pressure on them.
Jesus and the Biblical View of Boundaries [22:53]
Drawing from Jesus’ interactions with Peter and Judas, Jada reveals how even the Son of God set boundaries. She challenges believers to adopt a biblical view of boundaries that blend grace with truth, not guilt with distance.
Using Jesus as an example, Jada explains why forgiveness is not the same as reconciliation. The beauty of biblical boundaries (as opposed to worldly ones) is that they allow you to release someone without re-entering a toxic relationship.
Forgiveness sets you free—boundaries keep you whole.
