May Prayer Calendar

New! Our May Calendar for 2026!

This month, our prayer calendar focuses on one of the most transformative and life-giving fruits of the Spirit: KINDNESS.

In a world that can often feel harsh or divided, kindness is a powerful way to reflect the heart of Jesus to those around us. It isn’t just about being “nice”—it’s a deliberate choice to act with compassion, warmth, and generosity, even when it isn’t easy.

This month’s calendar is designed to help you see the people around you through God’s eyes. Through daily prayer and small, practical acts of service, we will invite the Holy Spirit to soften our hearts and make us more like Christ.

Our Theme Verse for May:

Be kind and compassionate to one another. — Ephesians 4:32

This verse reminds us that our kindness to others is rooted in the overwhelming kindness and forgiveness God has already shown us. When we remember how much we are loved, kindness becomes a natural overflow of our faith.

Why Focus on Kindness?

Kindness is a quiet strength. It has the power to bridge gaps, heal wounds, and open doors for the Gospel. In the Bible, kindness is often linked to “loving-kindness”—a steadfast, active love that seeks the good of others.

Kindness helps us:

  • Reflect God’s Character: God is described as being “rich in kindness.”
  • Heal Relationships: A gentle word or a kind act can melt away tension and bitterness.
  • Shift Our Perspective: Focusing on the needs of others helps us move away from selfishness.
  • Share the Gospel: People are often drawn to Christ through the genuine kindness of His followers.

Galatians 5:22 tells us that kindness is a fruit of the Spirit. It’s not something we have to “try harder” to produce on our own; rather, it is what happens naturally as we abide in Jesus and allow His Spirit to work through us.

How to Use This May Prayer Calendar

Each day in May includes three simple parts to help you practice intentionality:

  1. A Scripture Reference: A verse to ground your heart in God’s truth about compassion.
  2. A Short Prayer Prompt: A guided prayer to help you ask God to work kindness into your day.
  3. A “Tiny Step”: One small, practical action—like sending an encouraging text or holding a door—to live out kindness in real-time.

Ways to engage:

  • Morning Focus: Read the day’s verse before your day starts.
  • Daily Prayer: Use the prompt during your lunch break or commute.
  • The Tiny Step: Look for the specific moment to execute your “Tiny Step” of kindness.
  • Evening Reflection: Ask yourself: “How did I see God’s kindness today?”
